The Challenge
Having recently acquired a number of businesses, Concentric needed a new group website to bring together all their global brands and allow new brands to join the business through future acquisitions. The site had to support multilingual capabilities for manual translations and future expansions into additional languages. Additionally, a secure customer area was necessary to provide access to detailed product specifications and related documentation, with user-level permissions.
The Solution
We initiated the project with a workshop involving stakeholders from each acquired business to define their specific needs and establish critical functionalities. This engagement helped us outline the full project scope.
We then analysed the legacy websites’ information architecture to create a refined site map and define key user journeys for an intuitive user experience.
To ensure a future-proof solution, we built the website as a WordPress multisite installation, allowing for manual translations and future translation expansions.
Custom tagging was utilised to manage multiple products across different markets, brands, and categories. This approach enabled product information to be updated in a single place, avoiding content duplication and displaying relevant information differently based on the users navigation.
A secure area was developed for customers to search for product documentation, showing content based on their access level. Additionally, an integration with Cision was built in to provide press releases and share price information.
